"I'm powerless over this - I'll never have control again"
How it sounds in your head: They keep telling me I'm powerless and I have to admit I can't control it. That sounds humble but it makes me feel so weak and trapped. Like I'm just supposed to accept I'll never be strong enough to beat this.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
-- Philippians 4:13Religion's false humility requiring confession of permanent weakness instead of Christ's strength, twisting 'apart from Him I can do nothing' into 'even WITH Him I'm still powerless.'
Recovery language makes powerlessness sound spiritual and honest, plus her body does react automatically to triggers. She confuses natural branch-to-vine dependence with permanent helplessness, not realizing branches naturally produce fruit when connected.
Blinded, enslaved, hair cut off, strength completely gone, chained between pillars as entertainment for enemies. One prayer and God INSTANTLY restored supernatural strength - he killed more enemies in his death than in his entire life, proving powerlessness is never permanent with God.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm permanently powerless. IT IS WRITTEN I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me - not 'I'm helpless forever.' I am a branch connected to the VINE and fruit comes automatically through connection, not striving. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead LIVES IN ME. IT IS WRITTEN greater is He in me than anything in the world. Samson was blind and chained, completely powerless, and ONE PRAYER brought instant strength. I am not weak - I am CONNECTED TO OMNIPOTENCE.
The Father isn't asking you to stay powerless and broken - He's flooding you with resurrection power RIGHT NOW, the same power that exploded Jesus out of the grave. You're not a helpless victim; you're a daughter with Holy Spirit living inside.
