"I need to keep attending meetings forever or I'll fail."
How it sounds in your head: They told you 90 meetings in 90 days, then regular attendance for life. Miss meetings and you'll relapse. You're dependent on the group, the accountability, the ritual. Without it, you have no defense. You'll be 80 years old still sitting in church basements.
"And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
-- Colossians 2:10Replacement of Christ's sufficiency with human systems, making fellowship a requirement instead of a gift.
You've seen guys stop going to meetings and relapse within months. The community feels like your lifeline. The thought of not going triggers anxiety—what if you fall without the structure?
The thief had no church, no meetings, no sponsor, no 12 steps, no accountability group, no time to prove himself. Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise'—instant salvation and acceptance with ZERO religious infrastructure.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm dependent on human systems for freedom. IT IS WRITTEN that I am COMPLETE in Christ. He is my sufficiency, my strength, my defense. I honor community but I'm not enslaved to it. My sobriety is not sustained by meetings—it's sustained by the Life of Christ flowing through me as a branch on the Vine. IT IS WRITTEN that I abide in Him and He in me, and apart from Him I can do nothing—but IN Him, freedom is automatic. I walk in the BARAK blessing that protected Abraham even when he failed.
The Father doesn't want you in lifelong dependence on meetings—He wants you in lifelong dependence on His Spirit within you. You're not white-knuckling through life from meeting to meeting. You're resting in the finished work that set you completely free.
