"Doctors are worldly wisdom; truly spiritual people just trust God for healing without medicine."
How it sounds in your head: That visiting preacher said medicine is 'leaning on the arm of the flesh' instead of God. Maybe going to the doctor means I don't really believe God can heal me. Real Christians probably just pray and trust.
"Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet you."
-- Colossians 4:14Gnostic heresy that separates spiritual from physical, making God's provision through medicine seem less holy than direct miracles.
Some church leaders present a false dichotomy between medical science and divine healing. Their dramatic testimonies of refusing treatment make his doctor visits feel spiritually inferior.
Luke was both a physician AND a Gospel writer - proving God has no conflict between medical practice and deep spirituality. Paul traveled with a doctor, showing medicine and miracles work together, not against each other.
I REFUSE the lie that doctors are unspiritual! IT IS WRITTEN that Luke was BOTH a beloved physician AND a Gospel writer - God used a DOCTOR to write Scripture! Medical knowledge is a GIFT from God, not opposition to Him. IT IS WRITTEN that Paul kept a physician close in ministry. The BARAK blessing includes EVERY provision - miracles, medicine, and doctors working together! There is NO condemnation for seeking medical help. My Father provides healing through EVERY channel He chooses, and I receive them ALL with gratitude!
Your Father isn't creating a competition between prayer and medicine. He's the One who gave doctors their knowledge, just as He gives prophets their words - both are gifts from the same generous hand, running toward you with EVERY form of provision.
