"The enemy is stronger than me. I've tried to resist him and keep failing."

How it sounds in your head: I pray, I resist, I quote Scripture—and the same thoughts come roaring back. The addiction, the fear, the anger—it's all still there. Clearly the enemy has more power over me than I have over him. Maybe some people can walk in victory, but not me.

Colossians 2:15

"Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."

-- Colossians 2:15
Enemy whispers: I'm stronger than you—look how many times you've failed. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Colossians 2:15 - 'Having DISARMED principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them.' The enemy isn't stronger—he's DISARMED. Jesus already stripped his weapons at the cross. You're not fighting FOR victory, you're fighting FROM victory. IT IS WRITTEN in James 4:7—'Resist the devil and he will FLEE.' Not might flee. Not eventually flee. WILL FLEE. The promise isn't that you'll get stronger—it's that he's already DEFEATED and must bow to the name you carry.
Quick Truth: LIE: Enemy stronger than me. TRUTH: Jesus DISARMED him at the cross. You enforce FINISHED victory. Col 2:15

Source: Enemy magnifying his own strength while hiding the FINISHED WORK of the cross that already stripped him of all authority.

Why this feels true:

You've battled the same temptations for 50+ years—some you've white-knuckled into submission, others still ambush you. The scoreboard in your head says Enemy: 1000, You: 3, which feels like proof he's stronger, when actually it's proof you've been fighting in your own strength instead of enforcing his ALREADY-DEFEATED status.

Luke 10:17-20
The seventy disciples

Seventy ordinary men with no special training returned with joy saying 'even the demons are subject to us in Your name.' Jesus responded that He saw Satan fall like lightning—their authority was immediate and total, not because of their strength but because of the NAME they carried.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that the enemy is stronger than me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus DISARMED every principality and power and made a public spectacle of them at the cross. The devil isn't stronger—he's DEFEATED and DISARMED. I am IN CHRIST, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. When I resist the devil in Jesus' name, he MUST flee—that's not a suggestion, that's a COMMAND from James 4:7. IT IS WRITTEN that I have been given authority over ALL the power of the enemy. I enforce the FINISHED WORK of the cross. Every lying spirit, every tormenting thought, every addiction, every fear—you are UNDER MY FEET because I am seated with Christ in heavenly places.

But God actually:

The Father isn't asking you to GET strong enough to beat the enemy—He's showing you the enemy is ALREADY under your feet. Like the prodigal's father who restored full authority before any track record, God has placed you IN CHRIST where the battle is already WON, and you simply enforce what Jesus already finished.
