"Talking about money or success makes me sound prideful and ungrateful."
How it sounds in your head: I can't talk about financial wins without feeling gross. Got a bonus? Can't share it—sounds like bragging. Landed a great opportunity? Better attribute it to luck or downplay it. Any mention of money feels... dirty. So I stay silent even when I'm celebrating inside.
"Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!"
-- Psalm 107:8Source: religion. False humility that mistakes silence for godliness and transparency for pride.
Church culture celebrates the 'humble broke testimony' but side-eyes the 'blessed and prospering testimony.' You've seen people get labeled 'showy' for celebrating provision. So you hide every win to avoid judgment.
Ten lepers healed. Nine stayed silent. ONE came back 'with a loud voice glorifying God' and fell at Jesus' feet giving thanks. Jesus didn't rebuke him for making a scene—He asked, 'Where are the nine?' PUBLIC GRATITUDE pleased Jesus.
I REFUSE the lie that talking about money is prideful. IT IS WRITTEN that I should give THANKS to the Lord for His goodness—and thanks isn't silent, it's DECLARED. My soul makes its BOAST in the Lord. Every financial win is a testimony of the BARAK blessing on my life. IT IS WRITTEN that the redeemed of the Lord SAY SO. I will not hide what God does to avoid judgment from people who don't understand grace. I am Abraham's seed, blessed to BE a blessing. When I testify of provision, I'm pointing others to a GOOD FATHER who RUNS toward His kids with blessing. The Father threw a PARTY for the prodigal—celebration is worship. I give God glory OUT LOUD for every breakthrough.
The Father isn't whispering about what He's doing for you—He's shouting it in heaven. When you publicly thank Him for provision, you're joining the party He's already throwing, not interrupting it with pride.
