"If I accept money or gifts from my parents, I'm not really trusting God—I should refuse help."
How it sounds in your head: You hear testimonies about people who gave up everything and God provided miraculously. Accepting help from your family feels like taking the easy way out, like you're not really stepping out in faith. Real trust means doing it alone.
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"
-- Matthew 7:11Twisted faith teachings that make God's provision only count if it's dramatic, rejecting the truth that parents ARE God's provision.
Every faith story glorifies the person who had nothing and saw a miracle, making normal provision seem less spiritual. If God provides through your parents, it doesn't feel like 'real' faith.
He inherited his father David's kingdom—vast wealth, resources, and infrastructure already in place. God didn't make him start from zero to prove faith; He ADDED to what was already given and called it blessing.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting provision from my parents isn't real faith! IT IS WRITTEN that earthly fathers give good gifts, and my HEAVENLY Father gives even MORE—through whatever means He chooses! God providing through my family doesn't make His provision less real. IT IS WRITTEN that He supplies ALL my needs according to HIS riches, not according to my struggle. Solomon inherited blessing and God added more! The BARAK blessing often flows through family lines—Isaac inherited from Abraham. I receive EVERY provision as from the Father's hand with gratitude!
The Father doesn't withhold provision until you've proven you can suffer well—He runs toward you with resources already prepared, sometimes through your parents, sometimes through strangers, always according to His riches. He's not testing your independence; He's demonstrating His abundance.
