"Taking all these medications proves I didn't live right. Healthy believers shouldn't need this many pills."
How it sounds in your head: You look at your pill organizer and see evidence of a wasted life. If you'd eaten better, exercised more, managed stress—maybe you wouldn't be here. Godly living should have prevented this pharmacy.
"And His disciples asked Him, saying, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:2-3Source: health-gospel prosperity teaching that wellness proves righteousness and illness proves sin or poor choices.
You see healthier peers and wonder what they did differently, assuming their wellness proves better living. Religion taught that righteous living guarantees health, making your medications feel like moral failure report card.
Born blind—never knew sight, entire life disabled. Disciples immediately assumed sin caused it. Jesus completely demolished that theology, declaring neither the man nor his parents sinned—the condition existed for God's glory, not as punishment for living wrong.
I REFUSE the lie that my medications prove I lived wrong. IT IS WRITTEN that the blind man's condition wasn't from sin—neither his nor his parents'. My health isn't report card on my life; my righteousness is GIFT through Christ. I am blessed with the BARAK covenant of Abraham, which protected him even when he LIED—behavior doesn't determine blessing. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—none for needing pills, none for health challenges.
Your Father isn't reviewing your life choices and prescribing pills as consequence—He's looking at Jesus' perfect obedience and declaring you RIGHTEOUS. He's RUNNING toward you with the robe of right standing, celebrating that you're receiving every provision He offers through medical wisdom.
