"If I truly believed God would provide, I wouldn't need thyroid medication forever."
How it sounds in your head: My thyroid doesn't work—I'll need medication for life. But testimonies always end with 'and now I'm healed and don't need pills anymore.' Does needing medication forever mean I don't have enough faith for complete healing?
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Source: religion teaching that ongoing medical needs equal incomplete faith, making chronic conditions a spiritual failure.
Every healing testimony ends with throwing away medication. Her condition is lifelong, which feels like permanent proof she doesn't have 'real' faith.
Jacob wrestled with God and his hip was permanently damaged—he walked with a limp THE REST OF HIS LIFE. God renamed him Israel, blessed him massively, and never 'healed' the limp. The ongoing physical issue didn't negate the blessing; it was part of his story.
I REFUSE the lie that lifelong medication means incomplete faith. IT IS WRITTEN that God supplies ALL my need, and my thyroid medication is His supply for me. I am NOT spiritually deficient because I need ongoing medical help. IT IS WRITTEN that He gives us richly all things to enjoy, including medical provision. I am Abraham's seed, blessed and provided for, and the BARAK covers me whether I need medication one day or forever. God's provision is perfect for me today.
Your Father isn't disappointed that you need medication long-term—He's the one providing it day after day, celebrating that you're healthy and thriving. He's running toward you with tomorrow's dose in His hand, never once wishing you needed Him less or proved yourself more.
