"Taking testosterone or hormone treatments for gender dysphoria instead of just accepting how God made me is rejecting His design."
How it sounds in your head: Church says trans issues are just rebellion against God's creation. If I pursue medical help for this dysphoria, I'm saying God made a mistake. Maybe I just need to pray harder to accept myself.
"But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'"
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Source: religion mixed with culture war - theology that condemns medical intervention for gender issues while ignoring that all medicine alters what's 'natural.'
You hear constant messaging that your body is God's temple and altering it is sinful. The disconnect between your body and mind feels like punishment, but seeking treatment feels like rebellion against your Creator.
The Ethiopian eunuch - someone whose physical body didn't fit standard gender categories, excluded from full Jewish worship under Old Testament law - was baptized immediately by Philip with ZERO questions about his body. God sent an angel and His Spirit to orchestrate this outsider's inclusion.
I REFUSE the lie that medical treatment means rejecting God's design. IT IS WRITTEN that God looks at the heart, not outward appearance. The Ethiopian eunuch, whose body didn't fit religious categories, was fully accepted and baptized without questions. IT IS WRITTEN that in Christ there is neither male nor female - I'm accepted beyond gender performance. God provides medical professionals who understand dysphoria, and receiving that help is stewarding the life He gave me. I am blessed as Abraham's seed, and that blessing includes wholeness and peace in my own body.
Your Father isn't angry about your dysphoria or disappointed you need medical help - He's GRIEVING that His child feels this disconnect! He's running toward you with the doctor, the therapist, the treatment plan, whatever brings PEACE between your mind and body, because watching you suffer in either direction breaks His heart.
