"Supernatural healing is dangerous emotionally. False hope crushes people when it doesn't happen."
How it sounds in your head: I've seen people believe for healing and get devastated when nothing changed. Maybe it's safer to not expect miracles so you're not disappointed. Protecting yourself emotionally seems wiser than setting up for heartbreak.
"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
-- Romans 15:13Source: Trauma and fear masquerading as wisdom, using past pain to justify limiting God's power.
I've witnessed real pain from dashed expectations. People who believed hard and then felt abandoned by God when healing didn't come. The emotional damage seems worse than just accepting sickness.
Invalid for THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS, lying by a pool waiting for a miracle that never came, surrounded by other sick people in the same hopeless situation. Jesus walked up and healed him INSTANTLY with one command—no process, no preparation, just 'Rise, take up your bed and walk' and he did.
I REFUSE the lie that hope for healing is dangerous. IT IS WRITTEN that the God of hope wants me to ABOUND in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Disappointment comes from unbelief, not from believing too much. I choose to risk hope because my Father is faithful. The BARAK blessing means I walk under supernatural favor that defies logic. IT IS WRITTEN that faith is the substance of things hoped for. Without hope, there's no substance to grab onto. I will not let past pain or others' experiences limit my expectation of God's goodness. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all I ask or think.
The Father isn't disappointed in your hope—He's THRILLED by it. He's the Dad who killed the fattened calf He'd been saving, who gave the best robe not the servant clothes. He doesn't want you to lower expectations to avoid disappointment; He wants you to RAISE expectations so big only He can fill them, then watch Him run toward you with more than you imagined.
