"If healing were still happening, we'd see amputees healed and creative miracles."
How it sounds in your head: Sure, maybe some sicknesses get healed, but where are the missing limbs growing back? If God really heals supernaturally today, we'd see undeniable creative miracles like in the Bible. The fact that we don't proves it's not the same.
"Jesus said to him, 'Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'"
-- John 20:29Source: Skeptical argument demanding proof on human terms to justify unbelief in God's current power.
She's heard atheist arguments about amputees never being healed, and it does seem like a valid point. The healings she's heard about could be explained naturally, but a limb growing back couldn't. The absence of those miracles feels like evidence.
His ear was completely CUT OFF with a sword—not damaged, not injured, completely severed and on the ground. Jesus touched the ear and it was IMMEDIATELY restored, a creative miracle of a body part that was gone, made whole in an instant.
I REFUSE the lie that creative miracles don't happen today. IT IS WRITTEN: John 20:29 - Blessed are those who believe without demanding proof. I don't need to see every possible miracle to believe God heals. Malchus's severed ear was restored instantly. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing where God does impossible things. IT IS WRITTEN: Jeremiah 32:27 - Nothing is too hard for the LORD. I believe for creative miracles, missing parts restored, impossibilities made possible. My belief isn't limited by what skeptics haven't seen.
Your Father didn't promise to perform on demand for skeptics, but He did promise to respond to faith—and creative miracles like Malchus's severed ear restored still happen today when people believe. While you've been told you need more proof, He's been waiting for you to believe what He's already said.
