"If healing was real, Christian hospitals wouldn't need to exist—we'd all just pray instead."

How it sounds in your head: You look at St. Jude's, at Christian medical missions, at the hospital chapel. If God really healed supernaturally, these wouldn't be necessary. Their existence proves prayer alone isn't enough.

Mark 2:17

"When Jesus heard it, He said to them, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.'"

-- Mark 2:17
Enemy whispers: 'If healing was real, Christian hospitals wouldn't exist—their existence proves prayer isn't enough.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Mark 2:17—Jesus acknowledged physicians exist and have a role, yet HE HIMSELF healed the sick constantly. Both/and, not either/or. IT IS WRITTEN: Luke 4:23—'You will surely say this proverb to Me, "Physician, heal yourself!"' Luke WAS a physician (Colossians 4:14) and STILL wrote more healing accounts than any other Gospel writer. Medical care and miraculous healing COEXIST in Scripture. Hospitals exist because we live in a fallen world—but resurrection power ALSO exists because Christ defeated death.
Quick Truth: LIE: Hospitals disprove healing. TRUTH: Jesus acknowledged physicians AND healed constantly—both/and reality. (Mark 2:17)

Religion: False dichotomy that if supernatural healing exists, natural means are unnecessary—setting up a logical trap that denies both/and reality.

Why this feels true:

Christian organizations invest billions in hospitals and medical research. If they believed in divine healing, wouldn't they just build prayer centers instead?

Mark 5:25-29
Woman with issue of blood

This woman suffered twelve years with bleeding, spent ALL her money on many physicians, and 'suffered many things' under their care—she got WORSE, not better. Then she touched Jesus's garment and was IMMEDIATELY healed. Medicine tried and failed; Jesus succeeded INSTANTLY.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that hospitals disprove divine healing. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus acknowledged physicians and YET healed the sick Himself—both/and, not either/or. I don't despise medical care, but I don't limit God TO medical care. I am a branch attached to the Vine—the same resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead dwells IN me and gives life to my mortal body. IT IS WRITTEN: by His stripes I was healed—past tense, covenant reality, my BARAK inheritance. The woman with the issue of blood spent everything on doctors and got worse, then touched Jesus and was INSTANTLY made whole. I honor medicine as a tool, but I worship Jesus as my HEALER. Hospitals serve the sick; I receive the HEALING.

But God actually:

The Father isn't asking you to prove His power by rejecting medical care—that's the enemy's trap, not His heart. He's running toward you like the Father in Luke 15, not waiting for you to choose the 'right' healing method. He uses EVERY avenue to express His love—doctors, medicine, prayer, miracles—and He's celebrating your wholeness whether it comes through a surgeon's hands or a supernatural touch or both.
