"Believing in healing today makes you gullible and anti-science. Smart people know better."
How it sounds in your head: In biology class, everything is explained naturally. Believing in supernatural healing feels like being anti-intellectual or ignoring science. I don't want to seem stupid or naive.
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty."
-- 1 Corinthians 1:27Source: Worldly wisdom and pride that mocks faith, elevating human understanding above God's power.
Academia and culture consistently frame supernatural belief as primitive or uneducated. Every smart person I know seems to trust science over miracles, and I don't want to be seen as a fool.
Powerful military commander with incurable leprosy, told by a prophet to dip in a dirty river seven times. His pride and intellect almost made him reject the 'foolish' instruction. When he finally obeyed, his flesh was restored like a child's—INSTANT healing through a method that made zero medical sense.
I REFUSE the lie that faith in healing is anti-intellectual. IT IS WRITTEN that God chose the foolish things to shame the wise. I don't need man's approval to believe God's Word. Science is a gift, but God created the laws science discovers. The BARAK blessing includes divine wisdom and supernatural understanding. IT IS WRITTEN that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom—not the fear of looking foolish. I would rather be called naive by men and powerful with God than sophisticated in unbelief and impotent in faith. The cross looked foolish to the Greeks, but it's the power of God to those being saved.
The Father isn't embarrassed by your faith in miracles—He's PROUD of it. He's the Dad who celebrated the son who came home smelling like pigs while the 'smart' older brother stood outside criticizing. He's not looking for intellectual sophistication; He's looking for childlike trust that expects Him to do the impossible because that's who He IS.
