"The age of miracles passed because we now have the completed Bible. We don't need signs anymore."
How it sounds in your head: My church teaches that once the Bible was finished, miracles stopped because we have everything we need in Scripture. Signs were just to validate the apostles before the canon was complete.
"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
-- Mark 16:17-18Source: Cessationist theology that values written word over living Word, limiting Holy Spirit to history.
It's a clean theological explanation taught by respected scholars. The Bible IS complete, so maybe miraculous confirmation isn't needed anymore since we have the full revelation.
Not an apostle, just a regular disciple. God told him to go pray for Saul who was blinded. Ananias laid hands on him and IMMEDIATELY scales fell from Saul's eyes and he could see—an ordinary believer flowing in supernatural healing power that changed history.
I REFUSE the lie that miracles ended with the Bible's completion. IT IS WRITTEN that these signs will follow those who BELIEVE—no expiration date, no limitations to certain people or times. I am a believer, so signs follow ME. The BARAK blessing didn't end when the Old Testament was finished; it intensified in the New Covenant. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If He worked miracles yesterday, He works them TODAY. The completed Bible doesn't limit God's power—it releases me to believe every promise with confidence because it's written down and cannot be changed.
The Father didn't retire when the last book of the Bible was written. He's still the same Dad who interrupted funerals, who touched lepers nobody else would go near, who made wine appear out of nothing. He's not done showing off His goodness. He's running toward you with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.
