"My prayers for him aren't working—God isn't listening or doesn't care."
How it sounds in your head: You've prayed for years and he's only gotten worse. Other parents pray and their kids come back, but not yours. Maybe you don't have enough faith. Maybe God is punishing you. Maybe He just doesn't care about your son as much as He cares about others.
"It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear."
-- Isaiah 65:24Enemy distorting silence as rejection, process as denial, making answered prayer contingent on feeling or visible evidence.
You've watched friends' prodigals return while yours drifts further, and at your age you're running out of time to see the answer. The lack of visible progress feels like proof of divine disinterest.
Hannah prayed in such agony that the priest thought she was drunk, weeping bitterly over years of barrenness. The text says she went away, ate, and 'her face was no longer sad'—BEFORE she was pregnant, BEFORE any evidence. Then 'the Lord remembered her' and she conceived Samuel—the answer came after she believed, not before.
I REFUSE the lie that God's silence means God's indifference. IT IS WRITTEN that before I even called, He answered—my prayers launched heaven's intervention before I finished speaking. I do not walk by SIGHT but by FAITH. Lack of visible evidence is not lack of divine activity. IT IS WRITTEN in John 6:37 that 'the one who comes to Him He will never cast out'—my son is being drawn by the Father right now. I AM heard, my prayers ARE effective, and the breakthrough is already in motion. The same God who gave Abraham a son at 100 years old can bring my prodigal home at any age. I stand in the BARAK blessing—the covenant promise that pursues my seed across generations.
The Father heard your first prayer and set everything in motion—angels assigned, circumstances arranged, hearts being prepared. What you interpret as delay is actually divine setup, and the answer will be so complete you'll realize He was working all along.
