"Other parents' kids stayed faithful because they did something right that I didn't."
How it sounds in your head: Their kids are at youth group, going to Christian colleges, posting Bible verses. Mine is posting things that terrify me. They must know some secret I missed. I did something fundamentally wrong.
"But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."
-- Galatians 6:4Comparison spirit suggesting parenting is a formula with guaranteed results if done correctly.
You see families with multiple kids who all stayed in church, all married well, all walking with God. The contrast with your situation feels like proof of your specific failure.
Had the perfect Father—God Himself walking with them, perfect environment, perfect instruction, zero trauma or bad examples. Still chose rebellion, proving that even perfect parenting doesn't guarantee compliant children.
I REFUSE the lie that my parenting is inferior to others'. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 6:4 to examine my own work, not compare. Adam had the perfect Father and still rebelled. IT IS WRITTEN that I am God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works He prepared. I stand on the BARAK blessing—Isaac copied Abraham's lying and was still blessed. My child's journey is uniquely theirs, and my identity isn't tied to their current choices. I declare the Father is writing a testimony through this that will help countless other families.
The Father isn't grading on a curve against other families. He's writing YOUR family's unique redemption story that will carry a glory those 'perfect' families never needed to discover.
