"I need to respect my adult child's choice to reject God and stay silent."
How it sounds in your head: She's 32 with her own life. The boundaries books say you can't control adults. Maybe pushing faith on her will push her further away. You don't want to be that overbearing religious mom everyone avoids at holidays.
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
-- 2 Corinthians 10:4-5Worldly wisdom that confuses respecting free will with surrendering spiritual authority in prayer.
Every Christian boundaries book says you can't control other adults. She's clearly made her choice. Bringing up God causes fights. The culture says to 'live and let live' and maybe love means backing off.
Her daughter was demonized, she had no 'right' to ask Jesus (wrong nationality, wrong gender, no access), Jesus initially said no—but she PERSISTED with bold faith and got INSTANT deliverance for her daughter. Respectful persistence won.
I REFUSE the lie that respecting my adult child means staying silent in prayer. IT IS WRITTEN I have weapons mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. I honor her free will while exercising my spiritual authority as her mother. IT IS WRITTEN I am to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. I am pulling down arguments, lies, deceptions, and demonic assignments over her life. I will be gracious in conversation and VIOLENT in prayer. I am not backing off—I am warring in the spirit realm where the real battle is.
The Father never 'respects' someone's choice to stay in destruction—He relentlessly pursues, orchestrates collisions with grace, and positions divine interruptions. He's inviting you to partner with Him in that pursuit through strategic spiritual warfare, not passive silence.
