"My personality is too strong and I need to soften to be feminine"
How it sounds in your head: I've been told I'm 'intimidating' my whole life. Guys say they want a strong woman but then date the quiet one. Church leaders keep talking about gentle femininity and I wonder if God made a mistake with me. Maybe if I could just be softer, I'd finally be chosen.
"So she said, 'I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.'"
-- Judges 4:9Religious lie that confused biblical meekness (controlled strength) with weakness, creating a false feminine standard nowhere in Scripture
She's watched softer-spoken women get chosen for leadership and relationships while she gets told she's 'too aggressive.' Every message about femininity seems to describe someone she's not.
She drove a tent peg through an enemy general's skull and became the hero of Israel's greatest victory song. God didn't call her violent - He called her 'most blessed among women' and had Deborah write a song celebrating her strength.
I REFUSE the lie that my strength is unfeminine. IT IS WRITTEN that Deborah was a judge, prophet, and military leader while being a wife, and God raised her up to lead a nation. Jael was called 'most blessed among women' for her warrior act. IT IS WRITTEN that I am made in the image of El Gibbor - the Mighty God - and strength is part of His nature flowing through me. Proverbs 31 woman's arms are STRONG for her tasks. I am not too much - I am a daughter of the King of Kings, and royalty doesn't shrink. The BARAK blessing rests on me as Abraham's seed.
The Father is not trying to soften you into someone else's comfort zone - He's sharpening you into the warrior-daughter He designed. He gave you that personality specifically for the battles and breakthroughs ahead, and He's celebrating your strength, not correcting it.
