"My parents regret having me. I see it in their eyes, their disappointment."
How it sounds in your head: You know that look. The one that says 'this wasn't what I signed up for.' You weren't the kid they imagined. You didn't fulfill the dream. You're the reason they look tired, trapped, resigned.
"The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Projection from enemy—taking their weariness or disappointment in LIFE and making you believe YOU are the source.
You heard the comments. Saw the exhaustion. Felt the distance. They stayed, but did they WANT to? Performance has been your way of trying to reverse the regret you imagine lives behind their eyes.
Leah was the unwanted wife, unloved, constantly trying to earn Jacob's affection through childbearing. God saw her rejection and opened her womb—immediate conception, multiple sons, and through her came JUDAH, the Messianic line. God's favor wasn't waiting for Jacob's approval.
I REFUSE the lie that I am a disappointment or regret. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord rejoices over me with SINGING. My earthly parents' feelings do not define Heaven's reality. God has never once looked at me with regret. He looks at me and DANCES. I am not here to reverse disappointment—I am here to DEMONSTRATE glory. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, blessed in the city and in the field. The BARAK blessing flows through me regardless of human approval. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I am wanted. I am celebrated. I am SUNG OVER.
Your Father has never had a moment of buyer's remorse. He knew exactly who you'd be and said YES with full knowledge. He's not waiting for you to become someone else—He's celebrating who you already are.
