"I'm the wrong gender. They wanted a boy/girl, and I disappointed them from birth."
How it sounds in your head: Dad's face in baby pictures doesn't light up like it does with my brother. Mom dresses me how SHE would want to be. I heard Grandma say 'they were hoping for a boy.' I failed their expectations before I could even speak.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
-- Galatians 3:28Witchcraft of gender preference cursing identity; cultural/family spirits demanding specific gender; rejection wound planted at birth.
She sees differential treatment of siblings, hears 'jokes' about wanting a son, notices the slight disappointment when she's not interested in what they envisioned. Her very GENDER feels like a failure she can never overcome.
Only child, daughter not son, born to a man desperate for legacy through male heir. Yet she is described as his 'only child'—meaning she WAS his treasure despite gender, and she's remembered in Scripture annually while many sons are forgotten.
I REFUSE the lie that I am the wrong gender or a disappointment from birth. IT IS WRITTEN that in Christ there is neither male nor female—my value is not tied to chromosomes but to being IMAGE-BEARER of God. Their preference doesn't override His PURPOSE. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made—God didn't mess up my gender; He AUTHORED it. The BARAK blessing doesn't flow through male lineage only—Rahab, Ruth, and Esther carried it as WOMEN who changed history. I am not the wrong gender; I am the RIGHT vessel for the glory God intended to pour through ME. I am exactly who heaven ordered.
The Father is running toward you whispering, 'I made you EXACTLY right—your gender is not a flaw in My design but a FEATURE of your destiny.' He celebrates the daughter/son He created, not the one someone else imagined.
