"My lack of results proves I don't really believe God's promises"
How it sounds in your head: If I truly believed, I'd see evidence. The gap between what I confess and what I'm experiencing exposes that I'm just reciting words without real faith. I'm a hypocrite pretending to believe.
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."
-- Hebrews 11:13Formula theology that makes results the measurement of faith validity, turning God's promises into a vending machine you're apparently using wrong.
You speak what you're supposed to believe while your bank account, health, or relationships tell a different story. The disconnect feels like evidence you're spiritually fraudulent.
Mary and Martha BELIEVED Jesus could heal. They sent for Him, waited, and Lazarus DIED anyway. Did their faith fail? NO. Jesus waited on PURPOSE, then raised Lazarus after FOUR DAYS dead. The 'delay' wasn't denial - it was setup for GREATER glory. Immediate healing would've been impressive; resurrection was UNDENIABLE.
I REFUSE the lie that results measure faith validity. IT IS WRITTEN that faith heroes DIED without receiving promises yet were still commended for faith. Abraham waited 25 YEARS for Isaac - the delay didn't invalidate the promise. IT IS WRITTEN that God's timing is not our timing, but His Word never returns void. The BARAK blessing protected Joseph through 13 YEARS of slavery and prison BEFORE the breakthrough. Lazarus died WHILE Jesus delayed - and got resurrection instead of healing. I am righteous by GIFT, not results. My Father's faithfulness isn't proven by my timeline. The prodigal was a SON in the pigpen same as at the party.
Your Father's promises aren't negated by delay. Abraham believed for DECADES before seeing Isaac. The 'not yet' doesn't mean 'not real.' Lazarus' sisters believed and he died anyway - then Jesus raised him FOUR DAYS LATER for greater testimony.
