"Real faith would produce financial breakthrough, so my struggle proves I don't really believe"
How it sounds in your head: I've tithed for forty years, worked hard, prayed over finances. But I'm entering retirement still worried about money. Those prosperity preachers say faith brings wealth - maybe they're right and I just never had real faith at all.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."
-- Galatians 3:13-14Source: Religion twisted faith into a financial formula, making God a vending machine and you the one who didn't insert quarters correctly
After decades of working and believing, retirement accounts feel insufficient, and comparing himself to wealthier men suggests his faith was always second-rate. The equation seems simple: strong faith equals prosperity, therefore financial struggle equals weak faith.
A widow was so broke that creditors were literally taking her sons as slaves to pay debt. She had NO faith formula, NO seed offering, just desperate obedience - and in ONE AFTERNOON, oil multiplied until EVERY debt was paid with surplus left over.
I REFUSE the lie that my financial situation reflects my faith level! IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse of poverty and placed me under the BARAK - the Abrahamic blessing that made Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob wealthy even when they LIED and DECEIVED. My provision doesn't depend on my faith performance but on COVENANT. The same blessing that protected Jacob the deceiver and made him wealthy protects ME because I'm in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. My retirement is covered by the blessing, not by my ability to 'believe harder.'
The Father already commanded blessing on your storehouses through covenant, not through your faith measurements. Like the prodigal who came home broke and was immediately given the ring of authority and the robe of wealth, you're receiving from SONSHIP, not from spiritual performance scores.
