"I've failed at faith too many times for God to trust me with answered prayer now"
How it sounds in your head: Looking back, I can count dozens of times I believed God for something and then gave up. Times I started strong and quit. Times I doubted. God must be tired of my inconsistency - why would He answer me now when I've proven unreliable?
"If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."
-- 2 Timothy 2:13Source: Religion turned relationship with God into a performance review where past failures create permanent probation
A lifetime of inconsistent faith creates a mental ledger where failures outweigh successes, and it seems logical that God would respond based on track record. His own faithfulness to work, marriage, and responsibility makes God's faithfulness seem similarly conditional.
Peter didn't just fail once - he denied Jesus THREE TIMES with cursing after three years of following Him. Yet Jesus didn't put him on probation or make him earn his way back - He immediately restored him, gave him the keys to the kingdom, and used him to birth the church at Pentecost.
I REFUSE the lie that my past faith failures disqualify me from present breakthroughs! IT IS WRITTEN that when I am faithless, HE remains faithful because He cannot deny Himself. My answered prayers flow from HIS faithfulness, not mine. The BARAK blessing protected Abraham the liar, Jacob the deceiver, and Judah the adulterer - men who failed morally and spiritually yet remained blessed by COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. God isn't reviewing my faith history; He's responding from His NATURE as a good Father who gives good gifts to His children. My inconsistency doesn't change His consistency!
The Father doesn't have a file of your faith failures that He reviews before deciding whether to answer. Like the prodigal's father who never mentioned the prostitutes, the wasted money, or the pig pen - he only saw SON and responded with immediate, extravagant restoration.
