"My disability disqualifies me from serving God effectively."
How it sounds in your head: Ministry is for the capable. You can't travel, can't stand for long, can't do the physical work. You're sidelined. God can use others, but your contribution days are done.
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty."
-- 1 Corinthians 1:27Source: World system that measures ministry by activity instead of anointing, forgetting God chose a stutterer to confront Pharaoh and a teenager to kill a giant.
Ministry opportunities used to come regularly—now they've slowed or stopped. People ask others to help, not you. Your physical limits seem to limit God's options for using you.
Though not Scripture, her story embodies it—quadriplegic from a diving accident at 17, she's since painted with her mouth, written 50+ books, and founded a global ministry serving people with disabilities. Her limitation became her platform.
I REFUSE the lie that disability disqualifies me from serving God. IT IS WRITTEN that God chooses the WEAK to shame the strong, and my limitation is the very thing that proves His power, not mine. Moses stuttered but led a nation. Gideon was fearful but defeated armies. Paul had a thorn but planted churches across the known world. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me—not through my body that cooperates. God's anointing flows through VESSELS, and 2 Corinthians 4:7 says we're jars of clay so the power is obviously HIS. I am Abraham's seed, covered by the BARAK blessing. God doesn't need my ability—He wants my availability.
The Father isn't looking for the most capable—He's looking for the most connected. Your weakness is the crack where His light shines through brightest. He's not disappointed in what you can't do; He's excited about what HE can do through your YES.
