"I've let God down too many times; He's tired of me"
How it sounds in your head: How many times can I fail at the same thing before God gives up? I keep promising to do better and then I don't. He must be exhausted with me.
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Source: Religious guilt and transactional thinking - treating God's patience like a bank account that can run out.
You feel the weight of repeated failures and assume God's grace has limits like human patience does. Every stumble feels like you're using up your last chances.
Peter denied Jesus THREE times with cursing, after bragging he'd die for Him. After the resurrection, Jesus didn't lecture him - He made him breakfast on the beach and restored him INSTANTLY, then gave him the keys to build the church.
I REFUSE the lie that God is tired of me. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are NEW every morning, which means yesterday's failures are covered by today's fresh compassion. I cannot exhaust infinite grace. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 5:20 that where sin abounded, grace abounded MUCH MORE. The BARAK blessing protected LIARS and DECEIVERS in the Old Covenant - how much more does the blood of Jesus cover me in this BETTER covenant. I am not on spiritual probation; I am in the beloved.
The Father isn't keeping a tally of your failures - He's keeping count of His mercies, and they outnumber your worst days infinity to one. Like the prodigal's father who never mentioned the prostitutes or the wasted money, He only sees the child who's HOME.
