"I've wasted too many years to make God proud now"
How it sounds in your head: You're 85. What could you possibly offer God at this point? You should have done more when you were younger, when you had energy and time. Now you're just taking up space, watching TV in your recliner while your body falls apart.
"The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Enemy twisting age into disqualification, erasing the truth that God's pleasure is based on covenant, not productivity.
You can't serve in the nursery anymore, can't lead Bible studies like you used to, can't even get to church without help. Your usefulness feels over, and religious culture celebrates youth and energy, making you feel like you've aged out of God's favor.
Anna was 84 years old, widowed for decades, yet God chose HER to recognize the Messiah when He was presented at the temple. Her most significant prophetic moment came in her eighties, and she's named forever in Scripture for what God did through her at that age.
I REFUSE the lie that I've wasted too many years to make God proud. IT IS WRITTEN that the LORD rejoices over me with SINGING right now, at this age, in this body. My Father's pleasure is not based on my productivity but on His covenant. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13 that Christ redeemed me from the curse and placed me under the BARAK blessing of Abraham - a blessing that protected liars, deceivers, and failures. I am His BELOVED daughter, and He sings over me TODAY. The best is not behind me; His goodness follows me all the days of my life.
The Father isn't watching you from a distance, disappointed that you can't do what you did at 40. He's sitting WITH you in that recliner, delighting in your company, whispering that simply BEING His daughter makes His heart explode with joy.
