"God is disappointed I'm not the worship leader/ministry star I used to be."
How it sounds in your head: I used to be so involved—leading worship, serving everywhere. Now I'm tired and I've stepped back. People notice. I feel like I'm disappointing God by not using my gifts like I used to.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
-- Matthew 11:28Source: church culture that equates platform/visibility with spirituality and measures worth by ministry output.
Her value was affirmed most loudly when she was serving publicly, creating the belief that rest equals regression. Every Sunday she sits instead of serves feels like failure in God's eyes.
After calling down fire and defeating 450 prophets, Elijah burned out completely. God's response wasn't 'get back to ministry'—it was rest, food, and a GENTLE whisper. God met him in the cave in quietness, not in the spectacular, giving him permission to rest after the platform.
I REFUSE the lie that stepping back disappoints God. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus invites me to COME and REST, not perform more. My Father measures my worth by His LOVE, not my ministry output. IT IS WRITTEN that sitting at Jesus' feet is the BETTER part. God met burned-out Elijah with gentleness and rest, not demands. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that doesn't require platform to prosper. My identity is DAUGHTER, not worker. God is pleased with me IN Christ, not by what I produce FOR Christ. I am His BELOVED, resting or serving.
Your Father sees you exhausted from the platform and He's running toward you with rest, not a to-do list. He's already thrown the party because you're His daughter, not His employee.
