"I'm the one person God regrets saving because I haven't become what He wanted."
How it sounds in your head: God took a chance on me and I blew it. Other Christians are advancing and growing, but I'm stuck in the same cycles. He probably wishes He'd used that salvation on someone who would actually do something with it.
"He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will."
-- Ephesians 1:4-5Source: Performance-based religion combined with comparison culture amplified by social media highlight reels of 'successful' Christians.
Seeing peers excel spiritually while personal growth feels stagnant creates the illusion that salvation has merit-based returns God expects. The enemy uses comparison to make grace feel conditional.
Dying criminal with zero spiritual résumé, no baptism, no discipleship, no fruit, contributed nothing to the kingdom. Jesus' response: 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise'—instant, complete acceptance based on nothing but grace.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm God's regret. IT IS WRITTEN that He chose me before the foundation of the world according to the GOOD PLEASURE of His will. I didn't earn my way in and I can't fail my way out. My Father knew every struggle I'd face and every time I'd stumble, and He STILL predestined me for adoption. IT IS WRITTEN in John 6:37 that Jesus will NEVER cast me out—not 'might not' or 'probably won't,' but NEVER. I am not a failed investment; I am a beloved son, and His pleasure in me is based on His nature, not my performance.
Before you took your first breath or made your first mistake, God chose you and called it GOOD PLEASURE. He doesn't regret you—He celebrates you, and every lie about being His disappointment is the enemy's desperate attempt to steal what already belongs to you.
