"God is disappointed I didn't use my gifts more or make a bigger impact."
How it sounds in your head: You had talents and opportunities and you buried them in diapers and carpool and corporate jobs. God gave you gifts to use for His kingdom and you wasted them on small, invisible things. Other women leveraged their gifts; you squandered yours.
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
-- Colossians 3:23-24Source: Platform-obsessed church culture that values visible ministry over hidden faithfulness, denying that God measures impact differently than Instagram followers.
She watches younger women build platforms and ministries while her own gifts feel dusty and unused, buried under years of 'ordinary' life. The parable of talents gets twisted into condemnation rather than the invitation it is, and she wonders if she'll stand before God having done nothing remarkable.
Dorcas spent her life making clothes for widows—not preaching, not leading, just sewing garments for overlooked people. When she died, God sent Peter to raise her from the dead because her 'small' acts of making tunics were so valuable to Him.
I REFUSE the lie that God measures impact by platform size or public recognition. IT IS WRITTEN that whatever I do unto the Lord—not unto men—receives eternal reward. Every diaper, every spreadsheet, every conversation, every meal was UNTO HIM if I did it for Him. IT IS WRITTEN that I will receive the reward of the inheritance—not might, WILL—because Christ is my employer, not the world's measurement system. Dorcas made tunics and God raised her from the dead over it. My 'small' obedience is massive in the kingdom. The BARAK blessing isn't for famous people; it was for shepherds and tent-dwellers doing invisible work.
Your Father sees every single act of hidden faithfulness as an eternal investment worth more than a thousand stages, and He's already prepared rewards for things you don't even remember doing because they were 'just' unto Him. Nothing done for Him is wasted, ever.
