"God is disappointed I haven't been able to forgive them yet"

How it sounds in your head: I know I'm supposed to forgive. I've tried. But the hurt is still there, the anger resurfaces. God must be frustrated that I can't just let it go like He commands.

Hosea 6:1

"Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up."

-- Hosea 6:1
Enemy whispers: 'God is disappointed you haven't forgiven yet.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Hosea 6:1 - 'He has torn, but He will HEAL us; He has stricken, but He will BIND US UP.' He acknowledges the wounding. He doesn't demand you bypass pain to forgiveness—He HEALS you into it. IT IS WRITTEN: 'A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation' (Ps 68:5). He DEFENDS the wounded. He's not disappointed—He's your ADVOCATE.
Quick Truth: LIE: God disappointed I can't forgive yet. TRUTH: He has torn, but He will HEAL us (Hos 6:1)

Source: Religious teaching that makes forgiveness a performance requirement, ignoring that unforgiveness is often unhealed trauma, not rebellion.

Why this feels true:

She hears 'forgive as Christ forgave you' and feels condemned because the wound is still raw. She watches others claim to have forgiven instantly and wonders what's wrong with her heart.

Genesis 50:19-21
Joseph

Sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused, imprisoned for years. His forgiveness came AFTER years of process, after seeing God's redemption. God didn't condemn the timeline—He worked through it.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that God is frustrated with my forgiveness journey. IT IS WRITTEN He heals the wounds before binding them up—He doesn't rush the process. I am covered by the blood of Jesus, which speaks BETTER than my pain. The BARAK blessing includes divine JUSTICE for what was done to me. IT IS WRITTEN He is my defender. I declare: God is not disappointed in my struggle—He's HEALING me, tenderly, at the pace of His perfect love.

But God actually:

The Father doesn't stand over you demanding instant forgiveness—He sits WITH you in the pain, validating the wound, healing you INTO forgiveness. Like the prodigal's father, He doesn't demand you clean up your emotions first; He holds you THROUGH them.
