"God must regret choosing me—I've let Him down too many times."
How it sounds in your head: You were supposed to be different. You made commitments, promises, and vows—and broke most of them. God chose you for something, and you failed to deliver. He must regret the investment.
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
-- Romans 11:29Source: Religion's conditional calling theology, making God's choices seem reversible based on performance.
At sixty-eight, you can count broken promises and failed commitments. If YOU regret some choices, why wouldn't God regret choosing you?
Samson broke his Nazarite vow, slept with prostitutes, revealed his secret to Delilah, lost his strength, got captured and blinded. Religion would say 'calling revoked.' But God gave him strength ONE MORE TIME, and he killed more enemies in his death than in his life.
I REFUSE the lie that God regrets choosing me. IT IS WRITTEN: The gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE—not reversible, not conditional, not performance-based. My Father doesn't have buyer's remorse. IT IS WRITTEN: He who calls me is FAITHFUL, and He will do it. I am Abraham's seed—Jacob DECEIVED and God said 'your name is now ISRAEL.' The BARAK blessing doesn't depend on my track record. I am CALLED, CHOSEN, and KEPT.
Your Father doesn't regret choosing you—He's not surprised by your struggles. Like the prodigal's father, He didn't say 'I regret having sons'; He said 'bring the BEST ROBE' because you're CHOSEN, not auditioned.
