"I've failed God too many times; He's losing patience with me"
How it sounds in your head: Same sin, different week. How many times can I confess the same thing before God just gives up on me? I can feel His patience running out. Eventually, He'll write me off as a lost cause.
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Source: Human projection of finite patience onto infinite grace—religion teaches probation, not covenant
He feels the weight of repeated failure in areas like pornography or drinking, and assumes God's patience works like human frustration that eventually runs dry. The shame spiral makes each failure feel like it's pushing him closer to a divine breaking point.
Peter denied Jesus THREE times with cursing after three years of following Him. Days later, Jesus didn't probation him—He asked 'Do you love me?' three times and IMMEDIATELY commissioned him to feed His sheep, restoring him fully in one beach breakfast.
I REFUSE the lie that God's patience has limits. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are NEW every morning—not depleted, not diminished, not running out. God doesn't operate on a three-strikes system. My repeated struggles don't exhaust His infinite grace. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 5:20 that where sin abounded, grace abounded MUCH MORE—His grace isn't barely keeping up, it's FLOODING past my failure. I am under the BARAK blessing of covenant, which protected liars and deceivers—my stumbling doesn't cancel His commitment. There is NO condemnation for me in Christ Jesus.
The Father doesn't have a frustration meter filling up with each failure. He has an infinite ocean of compassion that resets FULLY every single morning—you cannot drain what has no bottom, and His commitment to you is based on Jesus's performance, not yours.
