"I've failed too many times to have any real spiritual authority now."
How it sounds in your head: I've compromised sexually, partied, lied to my parents, walked away from God multiple times. How can I take authority over the enemy when I've given in to him so many times? My past disqualifies me. Maybe if I can stay clean for a while, build up some spiritual credibility, then I could walk in authority. But right now? I've blown it too badly.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."
-- Romans 8:1Religion teaches authority is earned through performance and lost through failure instead of being a covenant gift.
She remembers every compromise, every sin, every time she gave in. The shame feels disqualifying. Logic says you can't have authority over something you've submitted to. Her track record seems to prove she's powerless.
Peter DENIED Jesus three times, cursing and swearing he didn't know Him. Weeks later, he preached with such authority that 3,000 were saved in ONE DAY, then healed a lame man with a WORD. Instant restoration, instant authority—failure didn't disqualify him.
I REFUSE the lie that my past failures disqualify me from present authority. IT IS WRITTEN: 'There is therefore NOW no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.' My authority doesn't rest on my track record but on HIS finished work. IT IS WRITTEN: 'He who knew no sin became sin for me, that I might become the righteousness of God in Him.' I am RIGHTEOUS—not because I've been perfect, but because HE is perfect. Peter denied Jesus and preached weeks later with authority that saved thousands. Abraham LIED and was still protected by covenant. Jacob DECEIVED and was still blessed. My authority is a GIFT, not a reward. I walk in FULL authority TODAY because I'm hidden in Christ, and nothing can separate me from His love or His power.
The Father isn't keeping a scorecard of your failures. He's not waiting for you to rebuild credibility. The moment you turn back to Him, He's RUNNING toward you—not with condemnation, but with the ROBE (identity restored), the RING (authority restored), and a PARTY. From compromise to complete authority in the time it takes Him to run to you.
