"I'll never be trusted again - I've proven I'm unreliable"
How it sounds in your head: My parents check my room. My friends screenshot my location. My boyfriend (if I even get one) will always wonder. I broke trust and now I'm forever the girl who has to PROVE herself. Every late text, every bad day - they'll think I'm using again.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Source: Religious/cultural belief that trust is earned back slowly through perfect behavior instead of given by grace
People literally DO treat you differently. Mom's face when you're late. Teachers who remember. The way conversations stop when you walk in. Trust was shattered and everyone says it takes years to rebuild.
Tax collector (traitor, thief, hated by everyone), climbed a tree just to see Jesus. One dinner invitation, one encounter, and Jesus declared 'TODAY salvation has come to this house' - instant acceptance and restoration in front of the whole judgmental town.
I REFUSE the lie that I must earn back trust through years of perfect behavior. IT IS WRITTEN: God will RESTORE the years the locust has eaten - not slowly rebuild but RESTORE. I am NOT defined by others' suspicion. IT IS WRITTEN that I have favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Like the prodigal who got the ring IMMEDIATELY, I receive instant restoration because I'm under GRACE, not probation. Under the BARAK blessing, I am BLESSED in my going out and coming in, the LORD commands blessing on everything I do. I walk in DIVINE FAVOR, not earned trust. I am HIS BELOVED.
Father gave the prodigal the RING the moment he came home - the ring meant AUTHORITY, full trust restored instantly. He didn't say 'let's see how you do for a few months.' He threw a PARTY. That's your Father - running toward you with full trust because covenant isn't based on your track record.
