"I'll never be able to lead or serve—my past disqualifies me forever."
How it sounds in your head: You can't be on the worship team now. Can't lead a small group. Can't be trusted with responsibility. Churches don't want leaders with your history. You're permanently benched. Your past disqualifies your future.
"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief."

They pulled you from serving after the relapse. Other guys your age are leading while you're sitting in the back row again. Churches do background checks and have 'standards.' Your history doesn't meet them.
ABANDONED Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary journey—such a failure that Paul refused to take him on the next trip and they split up. Years later, Paul writes, 'Get Mark—he is USEFUL TO ME for ministry.' Complete restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that my past disqualifies me from leading. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus counted Paul FAITHFUL and put him in ministry AFTER he murdered Christians. God doesn't commission based on résumé—He commissions based on GRACE. I have been given the ministry of reconciliation—not after I prove myself, but NOW. IT IS WRITTEN that whom He calls, He also JUSTIFIES. My calling is not on probation. The BARAK blessing that made Abraham the father of nations after he LIED makes me qualified NOW. I am not disqualified—I am COMMISSIONED.
The Father doesn't see you as damaged goods permanently benched. He sees you as a WEAPON He's preparing to deploy. He doesn't disqualify—He QUALIFIES by His grace. He's putting the robe and ring on you NOW, not after you earn it back.
