"I'll have to work until I die because there's no other option for people like me"
How it sounds in your head: I see people in their 70s and 80s still working because they can't afford to stop. That's probably going to be me too. There's no magical way out—I'll just work forever until my body gives out.
"And He said, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.'"
-- Exodus 33:14Enemy: Projects hopeless future based on current circumstances, denying God's supernatural intervention and covenant promises for rest and provision
She sees elderly workers still employed out of necessity and hears statistics about retirement unaffordability. It feels like an inescapable cycle with no divine intervention available.
At age 85, Caleb wasn't still working out of necessity—he was so strong and provided for that he asked for a mountain to conquer because he WANTED to, not because he had to. God sustained him in strength and provision into old age.
I REFUSE the lie that I'll work until I die with no rest. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives REST to those in His presence—rest is covenant promise, not luxury. The BARAK blessing on my life includes provision in my storehouses that sustains me in seasons of rest. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out—that includes coming IN to rest after years of labor. My Father established the Sabbath principle because He values rest, and He will provide for me abundantly so I can rest in my later years. I will NOT work until death; I will rest in supernatural provision because that's my inheritance.
Your Father sees you projecting endless labor into your future and is running toward you with a promise of REST. He didn't bring you into covenant to work you to death—He brought you in to give you abundant life that includes peaceful, provided-for rest.
