"If my own parents didn't want me, why would God want me?"
How it sounds in your head: Be honest—if the people who created you couldn't love you, what makes you think the God of the universe cares? You're projecting. You're desperate. God's got galaxies to manage. You're just another unwanted kid looking for a father figure because you didn't get one at home.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Enemy using parental rejection to distort image of God and block access to Father's love.
Your earthly father was distant, cold, or absent, and you've unconsciously projected that onto God. You can't imagine being wanted by God when your own dad didn't want you. It feels like wishful thinking.
Manasseh was the most evil king in Judah's history—burned his own sons as sacrifices, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, led the nation into witchcraft. He was captured, humiliated, imprisoned. When he cried out to God from prison, God IMMEDIATELY received him, restored him, and brought him back to his kingdom. Worst king, instant acceptance.
I REFUSE the lie that my parents' rejection predicts God's rejection. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me—God wanted me BEFORE I wanted Him. He didn't wait for my parents to approve—He chose me before the foundation of the world. My earthly father's distance doesn't define my Heavenly Father's desire. IT IS WRITTEN that I am accepted in the Beloved and predestined to adoption. The cross is the measure of God's want—He gave His Son to have me. I am wanted by the God of the universe, and no human rejection can change that.
Your earthly father may have been cold and distant, but your Heavenly Father is running toward you, robe and ring in hand, shouting 'This is My son—I've been waiting for him, and now he's HOME.'
