"If I just force this to happen now, God will bless my initiative."
How it sounds in your head: I've waited long enough. Maybe God expects me to take matters into my own hands—faith with action, right? I need to make something happen or I'll still be waiting at 60. Surely God blesses those who step out boldly.
"Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily."
-- Isaiah 28:16World system teaching that masculine strength means forcing outcomes and that waiting equals weakness.
Men are trained to be initiators and problem-solvers. Waiting feels passive and unmasculine. Every entrepreneurial message says 'make it happen' and 'take massive action.'
Abraham forced a solution through Hagar, producing Ishmael—13 years of complications. When he stopped striving, Isaac came effortlessly through Sarah. The forced solution created problems; the faith solution created promise.
I REFUSE the lie that I must force outcomes to prove my manhood. IT IS WRITTEN that he who believes will not act hastily—my rest IS my faith. I am the BRANCH, not the vine—my job is connection, not production. Like the Israelites at the Red Sea, IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord fights for me while I hold my peace. I reject Ishmael strategies and rest in Isaac promises. The BARAK blessing flows through covenant rest, not anxious striving. I am above only and not beneath because of HIS faithfulness, not my forcing.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to 'make something happen'—He's waiting for you to REST so He can do what only HE can do. The prodigal's father didn't need the son to prove anything; he needed him to COME HOME and receive what was already prepared.
