"If I had exercised faith earlier, I wouldn't have wasted my life"
How it sounds in your head: I spent so many years in unbelief, in compromise, in wandering. If I'd just grabbed hold of faith in my twenties instead of my sixties, I could have done something significant. Now it's too late. My weak faith cost me my purpose.
"saying, 'These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.'"
-- Matthew 20:12Religion measures life value by productivity and duration, making late-blooming faith seem like a consolation prize instead of full inheritance.
You see the decades behind you as wasted opportunities and assume God grades on timeline. The brevity of remaining years feels like proof you failed.
The thief lived his entire life in crime and rebellion, believed in the last hour of his life while DYING. Jesus gave him IMMEDIATE paradise - full salvation with zero time to 'do' anything for God.
I REFUSE the lie that late faith means wasted life. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 20:12 that eleventh-hour workers got the SAME wage - my Father doesn't pay based on years served but on COVENANT position. The thief on the cross had zero productive years and got FULL paradise - TODAY. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 2:25 'I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten' - my Father is a RESTORER, not a scorekeeper. I am the BRANCH now connected to the VINE - fruit comes NOW, regardless of years dormant. The BARAK blessing doesn't depreciate with age - Abraham received THE promise at 75, had the miracle son at 100.
Your Father sees you at ninety-plus and says 'TODAY you're with Me in purpose, in inheritance, in fullness' - just like He said to the dying thief. He's running toward you with the full denarius, the robe, the ring, the party - no reduced package for late arrivals.
