"If healing was real, why do Christians still get sick and die?"
How it sounds in your head: I know faithful believers who died young. Missionaries get cancer. Pastors have heart attacks. If healing was guaranteed, why isn't every Christian walking in perfect health? Something doesn't add up.
"Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."
-- 1 Peter 2:24Religious logic trying to explain why promises don't manifest, accidentally denying the promises themselves.
You've attended funerals of godly people who prayed for healing. Your own body isn't what it was. The evidence seems to contradict the promise, so either the promise isn't real or you're missing something.
Epaphroditus, Paul's co-worker, was sick almost to death—but God had mercy and healed him. Even in the early church, believers got sick but also got healed when they received God's mercy.
I REFUSE the lie that other people's deaths prove healing isn't available. IT IS WRITTEN that by Jesus' stripes I WAS healed—past tense, finished work. I don't understand every tragedy, but I won't let confusion about others' situations cancel what Jesus bought for me. The BARAK blessing covered Abraham even when his faith wavered—it's based on God's covenant faithfulness, not human perfection. IT IS WRITTEN that God sent His word and healed them and delivered them from destruction. I receive that word NOW for my body.
Your Father isn't withholding healing to teach you theology lessons—healing was purchased at the cross and offered freely. Like the prodigal received everything despite not deserving it, you receive healing by grace, not by understanding why others didn't.
