The sickness persists despite prayer, and your theological training emphasized God's sovereignty over all things, including suffering. If God allows it, there must be a purpose, and figuring out that purpose feels like the key to getting out.
This man had been an invalid for thirty-eight years—no mention of sin, no lesson to learn, just decades of suffering. Jesus didn't ask him what he'd learned or if he was ready; He simply commanded him to rise, take up his bed, and walk, and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well.
I REFUSE the lie that my Father authors sickness to teach me lessons like some sadistic professor. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the DEVIL—sickness is enemy oppression, not divine education. God doesn't need to break my body to develop my character; He gave me His Spirit for transformation. The BARAK blessing over my life is supernatural health, and I will not honor disease by calling it God's will. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I was healed—past tense, finished work, not conditional on my spiritual maturity. I receive healing NOW, not after I've proven I've learned enough.
Your Father is grieved that you've been taught to thank Him for what the enemy brought, and He's running toward you with healing in His wings while you're still searching for the lesson. He doesn't want you sick one more day—He wants you WHOLE, right now, because that's what Jesus died to give you.
