"I shouldn't want abundance at my age. I should just be content with what I have left."
How it sounds in your head: You're almost done here. It's selfish to want more when you should be focused on eternal things. Just be grateful for what little time remains. Wanting prosperity now is greedy.
"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:12-14Source: Religious teaching that spirituality and poverty are linked, twisted end-of-life theology that says desire dies before you do.
Every sermon seemed to pit heaven against earth, making desire feel carnal. At 90+, wanting anything material feels inappropriate when death is so close.
Abraham was 100 years old, way past natural ability, when God gave him Isaac and MULTIPLIED his wealth. God's blessing increased in his final season, not decreased.
I REFUSE the lie that my age disqualifies me from abundance. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous bear fruit in OLD AGE and remain fresh and flourishing. I am Abraham's seed by covenant, and the BARAK blessing that protected and prospered him at 100 years old is MINE through Christ's blood. My desire for abundance is not greed—it's the life of God in me. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives us richly all things to enjoy. I declare I am FRESH, FLOURISHING, and FAVORED in my 90s. The Father isn't counting down my days to cut off blessing—He's RUNNING toward me with the fattened calf.
The Father sees you and His heart SWELLS with desire to lavish you with good things in these final years. He didn't bring you this far to leave you wanting—He's preparing a table before you, anointing your head with oil, making your cup OVERFLOW even now.
