"Having financial abundance will make me shallow, worldly, and distant from God."
How it sounds in your head: If I get the income I'm dreaming about, I'll probably become one of those materialistic Christians who forgets what really matters. Poverty keeps me humble and dependent on God.
"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."
-- 1 Timothy 6:17Religion taught that poverty equals piety and prosperity corrupts the soul.
She's watched wealthy people seem disconnected from struggle and heard every parable about rich people twisted into a warning. The poverty gospel feels safer spiritually.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold'—and God called him His friend, made covenant with him, and he's the father of faith. His wealth didn't distance him from God; it demonstrated God's faithfulness.
I REFUSE the lie that prosperity will make me worldly. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives richly ALL THINGS to enjoy, not to corrupt. I am Abraham's seed—the BARAK makes me a conduit of blessing, not a consumer corrupted by it. IT IS WRITTEN that I'm the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. My abundance reveals the Father's nature and advances His kingdom. I receive wealth as a DAUGHTER, not as a threat to my devotion. Prosperity draws me CLOSER to the generous Father who gave it.
The Father isn't keeping you poor to protect your soul. He's already preparing abundance that will showcase His goodness through you, making you so radically generous that people will ask why you're different and you'll point them to the Father who loaded you up.
