"I never did anything significant for God, so my life doesn't matter in His kingdom story."
How it sounds in your head: You're in your sixties and what do you have to show for it? You never planted a church, never led a major ministry, never wrote a book, never went to the mission field. You just worked a regular job, attended church, tried to be a decent guy. Other men have legacy—you just have a quiet, unremarkable life. Maybe faithfulness counts for something, but surely the guys who did BIG things matter more.
"His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'"
-- Matthew 25:21Source: World's celebrity culture infecting the church, making significance about platform size instead of obedience in the place God assigned.
When you look at the 'successful' Christian men—the authors, the megachurch pastors, the visible leaders—your life feels small by comparison. No one will write about your faithfulness.
Joseph was a quiet disciple who served in secret for years—no preaching ministry, no miracles, just a wealthy man who loved Jesus privately. His one recorded act was providing his tomb for Jesus' burial, yet that ONE ACT of faithfulness positioned him in the most important moment in human history. Obscurity doesn't mean insignificance.
I REFUSE the lie that my quiet life doesn't matter. IT IS WRITTEN: God rewards faithfulness over a FEW things, not just visible success. Every act of obedience, every prayer, every small faithfulness MATTERS in the kingdom. IT IS WRITTEN: Nothing done for God is ever wasted. The widow's two mites outweighed the wealthy donations. Joseph of Arimathea's one act echoes through eternity. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing doesn't require a platform. My life is SIGNIFICANT because HE says it is, and He's not done writing my story.
The Father has been recording every hidden obedience, every quiet prayer, every small faithfulness you thought no one noticed—and He's about to reveal that your 'unremarkable' life has touched more hearts, shifted more atmospheres, and mattered more eternally than the platforms you envied. What you thought was small, He calls GREAT.
