"I can't receive healing because I haven't lived right or had enough faith."
How it sounds in your head: You see other people get healed, but you know your track record. Maybe if you'd prayed more, believed harder, lived cleaner, God would heal you. But you didn't, so He won't.
"When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'"
-- Matthew 8:16-17Source: religious teaching that healing is earned by faith levels or moral performance, making God's power conditional on human effort.
His body is failing, prayers seem unanswered, and others appear more 'spiritual.' It feels logical that God rewards the faithful and withholds from the flawed, making his sickness feel like divine punishment or neglect.
This woman was ceremonially UNCLEAN for 12 years, unable to worship or be in community. She didn't pray harder or live cleaner—she just TOUCHED His garment. Healing was INSTANT, not because she earned it, but because virtue flows from HIM, not from her worthiness.
I REFUSE the lie that healing requires perfect faith or perfect living. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses—healing was PURCHASED, not earned. The woman with the issue of blood was unclean for 12 years yet healed INSTANTLY by one touch. IT IS WRITTEN by His stripes I AM healed—present tense reality, not future possibility. My body may not reflect it yet, but my spirit receives it NOW. I stand in the BARAK blessing—health is my covenant right in Christ, not a reward for performance.
The Father isn't withholding healing until you measure up—He already provided it at the cross. Like the centurion's servant who was healed without even being present, your healing is based on JESUS' authority, not your spiritual résumé. He is saying, 'Only believe.'
