"I don't need organized religion—I can have God without the hypocritical church system."
How it sounds in your head: You've seen enough potlucks and politics to last a lifetime. The gossip, the cliques, the power plays over carpet color while people are dying without Jesus. You can read your Bible at home, pray in the woods, and skip the performance. God understands.
"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
-- Hebrews 10:24-25Source: Enemy isolation tactic disguised as spiritual independence—cutting you off from the very connection God designed for strength.
You have genuinely encountered God alone in nature and Scripture more powerfully than in many church services, and the dysfunction you witnessed was real and exhausting. Going solo feels cleaner and more authentic.
Elijah ran to a cave convinced he was the only faithful one left, ready to quit. God revealed 7,000 others who hadn't bowed to Baal—instantly shifting Elijah from isolated to connected, from solo to part of a remnant.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm better off alone. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.' Isolation is enemy strategy, not divine design. The church has flaws because it's full of people like me—imperfect but loved. IT IS WRITTEN: 'A threefold cord is not quickly broken.' I need connection, not perfection. I am part of the Body, blessed in community, iron sharpening iron. The BARAK protects me in covenant community. I am the head not the tail when I stay connected to my tribe, even the messy parts.
Your Father isn't asking you to return to toxic systems—He's inviting you to risky, real connection with other broken people learning to love imperfectly, because that's where His presence shows up most powerfully. He's preparing a seat at the table with others who've been wounded too, not a solo booth.
