"God allowed this autoimmune disease to break my self-reliance and pride."
How it sounds in your head: You've always been the strong one—the provider, the fixer, the guy everyone leans on. Now at 43 you can barely get out of bed some mornings with this lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Maybe God's stripping away your self-sufficiency so you'll finally depend on Him instead of your own strength.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Source: Religion—teaching that God breaks people to fix them, making Him the author of disease rather than the destroyer of the works of the devil.
You HAVE been self-reliant, carrying everything alone, and this forced dependence feels like a painful but necessary spiritual reset. The enemy uses your actual need for surrender to God to sell you a lie that God authored your disease.
God dealt with his pride by removing his sanity for seven years until he acknowledged God's sovereignty, then INSTANTLY restored his reason, kingdom, and honor. Even in judgment under the Old Covenant, restoration was IMMEDIATE when he humbled himself.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this autoimmune disease to fix my pride. IT IS WRITTEN that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father, and disease is neither good nor perfect. The Holy Spirit convicts and teaches dependence; sickness steals and destroys. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse, and autoimmune disease is the curse. I am Abraham's seed by faith in Jesus, and the BARAK blessing of divine health protects me. I receive supernatural healing NOW, and I surrender my self-reliance to the Holy Spirit's leadership, not to disease's destruction.
The Father doesn't need to make you sick to teach you dependence—He's running toward you right now with healing and the Holy Spirit, ready to be your strength in a way that brings LIFE, not death. He breaks pride through revelation of His love, not through destruction of your body.
