"I need to have more faith before God will heal me from this sickness."
How it sounds in your head: I'm not healed yet, so my faith must not be strong enough. If I just believed harder or prayed better, I'd get better. Other people get healed because they have more faith than me.
"When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'"
-- Matthew 8:16-17Religion makes healing dependent on the size of her faith instead of the size of her Savior, turning Jesus' finished work into her performance.
She's heard 'if you had faith like a mustard seed' and 'your faith has made you well,' making it sound like healing is earned by believing hard enough. When she's not healed, it feels like proof her faith is broken.
They cried out to Jesus, and He told them to go show themselves to the priests. AS THEY WENT, they were cleansed—healed BEFORE arrival, healed in the GOING, healed while still looking leprous. Faith was obedience to go, not perfection before healing.
I REFUSE the lie that I need more faith before God will heal me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were sick to fulfill prophecy—He took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses, and that work is FINISHED. My healing doesn't depend on the size of my faith; it depends on the size of my Savior. IT IS WRITTEN that faith the size of a mustard seed moves mountains—even tiny faith accesses HUGE healing because Jesus is HUGE. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK covenant of health. I receive healing the same way I received salvation—as a GIFT by grace through faith, and that not of myself.
Your Father isn't waiting for your faith to reach a certain level before releasing your healing like a locked achievement. He already provided healing at the cross—your tiniest faith just reaches out and receives what He's already freely offering.
