"This disease is my thorn in the flesh that God won't remove."
How it sounds in your head: Paul had his thorn and God said no. Maybe this is mine. Maybe God uses sickness to keep certain people humble. I've asked three times, a hundred times—the answer seems to be no, so I should stop asking and just accept it.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree')."
-- Galatians 3:13Source: Misinterpretation of 2 Corinthians 12:7-9, making Paul's unnamed difficulty a blueprint for unanswered healing prayers.
The verse literally says God didn't remove Paul's thorn, providing religious justification for ongoing sickness. It's easier to accept 'God said no' than to continue contending when nothing seems to change.
Born blind—disciples asked whose sin caused it, and Jesus said neither, but that God's works should be revealed. Jesus spat, made clay, anointed his eyes, and the man washed and came back SEEING—instant healing of a lifelong condition.
I REFUSE the lie that my sickness is a thorn God refuses to remove. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse, and Deuteronomy 28 names sickness as curse, not gift. Paul's thorn was demonic opposition, never disease—Jesus destroyed every sickness He encountered without keeping any for teaching. IT IS WRITTEN that by His wounds I have been healed, present perfect tense, permanent result. I am under grace, not law; under blessing, not curse. The BARAK blessing that protected Abraham the liar covers me, and no weapon formed against my body prospers.
Your Father isn't saying no—He already said YES at Calvary, where He took every curse including sickness into His own body. While you're still asking, He's already answering; while you're still waiting, He's already running with healing in His hands like He ran to the prodigal.
