"Demonic oppression explains why I can't stop certain sins or addictions"
How it sounds in your head: I keep falling into the same sin patterns—porn, rage, substance use. Maybe there's a demon of lust or addiction controlling me. That would explain why I can't break free on my own.
"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace"
-- Romans 6:14Source: Externalizing sin to demons instead of recognizing flesh patterns that simply need renewing of the mind
His sin patterns feel compulsive and beyond his control, so blaming demons feels more hopeful than admitting he needs mind renewal. Demonic oppression offers an external enemy to fight instead of internal transformation.
Jesus healed a blind man in TWO stages—first he saw partially, then fully. Not because of demonic resistance but because healing sometimes unfolds progressively. The man wasn't oppressed—he was being restored.
I REFUSE the lie that demons control my sin patterns. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Sin shall NOT have dominion over me, for I am under grace' (Romans 6:14). My struggle isn't demonic possession—it's my mind being renewed. IT IS WRITTEN: 'I am being transformed by the renewing of my mind' (Romans 12:2). Grace breaks every addiction. I am not oppressed—I am a NEW creation, and old patterns are passing away. The BARAK blessing includes freedom—I am the head, not the tail. Every chain is broken by grace, not by deliverance rituals.
Father isn't waiting for you to cast out demons. He's pouring grace on you RIGHT NOW, renewing your mind with every moment you fix your eyes on Jesus. He sees you as already free, learning to walk in it.
